Our therapists can treat both acute injuries such as ligament sprains, muscular strains or tears through to annoying chronic injuries such as tendinoapthies and other overuse injuries.

Sports Injuries and Conditions We Treat

We help with a wide range of sports and gym-related injuries, from sudden strains and sprains to persistent overuse pain that keeps flaring up. Your appointment includes a thorough assessment to identify what’s really driving the problem, then a tailored rehabilitation plan with clear home exercises and progression milestones.

Acute sprains and strains

Sudden pain after a sprint, jump, tackle, awkward landing or heavy lift. We assess the injured tissue, related joints and movement control, then build a plan to settle symptoms and restore strength, stability and confidence.

Tendon pain and overuse injuries

Gradual onset pain that worsens with training load, like Achilles, patellar tendon, gluteal tendinopathy, plantar fascia or tennis elbow. Rehab focuses on progressive loading, technique tweaks and load management so you can return without recurring setbacks.

Running-related injuries

Common issues like shin pain, knee pain, hip pain, calf tightness and foot or ankle pain. We look at training history, footwear, strength and running mechanics, then guide a step-by-step return to volume, speed and hills.

Knee, hip and groin pain

Pain with squats, stairs, jumping or change of direction, plus groin and hamstring issues. Treatment targets mobility, strength and control through the hip, knee and ankle, with sport-specific progressions where needed.

Shoulder pain for gym and overhead sport

Pain with pressing, throwing, swimming or overhead work, including rotator cuff related pain and instability patterns. We assess shoulder strength, scapular control and thoracic mobility, then rebuild capacity safely with progressive loading.

Post-surgical and return-to-sport rehab

Structured rehab after procedures such as ACL, shoulder or ankle surgery, plus guidance for persistent or recurring injuries. We use objective milestones, strength targets and sport-specific progressions to support a safe return to training, work and competition.

Benefits of Sports Physiotherapy

Sports physiotherapy helps you recover faster and reduce re-injury risk by addressing the root cause of pain and building the strength, control, and confidence needed to return safely to training and sport.

Faster recovery from injuries

Accurate diagnosis and proper care in the initial stages combined with expert treatments will ensure you get back on the field faster.

Reduced risk of reinjury

Injuries that arent completely rehabilitated leave the athlete at risk of further injuries. If there is an underlying reason for the injury, this has to be addressed or the same injury may happen again.

Improved performance

Addressing any imbalances, weaknesses or pain can have a significant affect on your performance. Sports physio for performance.

Educating and self management

Understanding your sporting injury and the mechanisms of recovery goes a long way to ensure a full, speedy and complete recovery.

Enhanced proprioception

Improving proprioception and body awarness improves both performance and helps prevent injuries.

Return to play

An injured athlete or sportsperson needs to rehabilitated and conditioned to return to the sport. They need the confidence in their injury that it can survive the challanges of a game or training.
