Occupational Physiotherapy at Advantage Healthcare

Workplace physiotherapy
Our occupational physiotherapists help individuals and workplaces manage work-related pain, prevent injuries, and support safe return to work after injury or surgery. We combine thorough assessment with practical, job-specific strategies so improvements hold up in the real world, at the desk, on the tools, or on your feet all day.

Where relevant, we can also coordinate care alongside WorkCover rehabilitation and return-to-work planning.

We also provide pre-employment assessment or functional screening, onsite treatments and assessments and liasion with your managers to help your return to work process.

Workplace Issues We Help With

We help with a wide range of sports and gym-related injuries, from sudden strains and sprains to persistent overuse pain that keeps flaring up. Your appointment includes a thorough assessment to identify what’s really driving the problem, then a tailored rehabilitation plan with clear home exercises and progression milestones.

Desk and workstation-related pain

Neck, upper back, headaches, shoulder tension and lower back discomfort linked to prolonged sitting. We assess your setup and movement habits, then provide ergonomic changes and exercises that actually fit your day.

Manual handling and lifting injuries

Back strains, rib and trunk pain, shoulder overload and flare-ups from repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling or awkward loads. We focus on load tolerance, technique, and progressive strengthening for the tasks you need to do.

Repetitive strain and overuse problems

Forearm, elbow and wrist pain, plus shoulder and neck overload from repetitive work, gripping, tools, or computer use. Treatment targets the driver of overload and builds capacity with staged loading.

On-your-feet pain and fatigue

Foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain from prolonged standing and walking. We address footwear, strength, mobility and pacing so you can work comfortably for longer.

Post-surgical and return-to-work rehabilitation

Rehab following procedures such as shoulder, knee or back surgery, with clear milestones, functional goals and job-specific progressions to support a confident return.

Recurring flare-ups and persistent pain

If the same issue keeps returning, we look at workload, recovery, strength deficits and movement strategies to build long-term resilience, not just short-term relief.
