Amie Rice - Physiotherapist/Pilates Instructor

Amie graduated from the University of Queensland with a Masters of Physiotherapy Studies in 2013, after completing a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies (Exercise Physiology) in 2011 at the Queensland University of Technology.

Experience and Interests
Amie has a keen interest in rehabilitating athletes, with having worked with the Moreton Bay College Artistic and Rhythmic gymnasts and Coolangatta Bluebirds AFL team. In conjunction with sports-related rehab, Amie also enjoys working with  lower-back pain conditions, lower limb pathologies and providing exercise prescription to help people meet their various goals. She also has an interest in nutrition and its effect on pathologies, rehab and recovery.

Other Interests
Amie enjoys keeping active; including but not limited to competing in team triathlons with the Advantage Healthcare family! With previously being a competitive gymnast and track and field athlete, she enjoys integrating her previous experience with current knowledge into treatment for her patients. She also enjoys socialising with friends, dining out and traveling.


John Havill - Physiotherapist

John graduated from Otago Physiotherapy School, New Zealand in 1982 and has been a New Zealand and Australian registered physiotherapist for over 30 years.
During this time he has completed post graduate studies in the areas of Spinal Manipulative Therapy, Acupuncture and Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. He has been Internationally Credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy since 1998 and was awarded an international scholarship to study spinal pain with the McKenzie Institute International, in the USA.

Experience and Interests
John has a special interest in low back pain, and this has guided his career in working as both a clinician and in research. Clinical breakthroughs he discovered lead him to develop technology that is now being used by the University of Otago in ground breaking research into the prevention of low back pain, with the latest publications being 2011, 2012 and 2013.
John has an extensive background in management of sports injuries, especially rugby union, athletics, netball and rowing having had his own clinics in both New Zealand and Johannesburg, South Africa. He has worked at national and All Black trials level with rugby union in New Zealand.

Other Interests
John is a passionate yachtsman which is why Moreton Bay and Wynnum/Manly are his home. He has a goal of completing a "Sydney to Hobart" and races on The Bay all year round.
As a rugby union fan John is reluctantly accepting that his allegiance to the New Zealand Chiefs time has come ....... he is in REDS country now.
John maintains a keen interest in live music and is a violinist.


Zoran Vukelic - Physiotherapist

Zoran graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) in 1998. In order to work as a Physiotherapist in Australia, he completed a Bachelor or Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland graduating in 2005.

Experience and Interests
Zoran has worked for Queensland Health in the hospital system since early 2006. He joined the Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy team in 2008.
Zoran has a special interest in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a particular focus on neck and back injuries/problems.

Other Interests
Zoran was born in Bosnia and speaks English, Bosnian, Croatian, Czech and Serbian. While living in Sarajevo he was involved in pigeon racing, something which he would like to one day to get back into. Zoran enjoys basketball, soccer, swimming and tennis as well as fishing and camping where he can get close to nature.


Ken Nguyen - Physiotherapist

Ken completed his Bachelor of physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2003 after spending 4 years in the Australian Army Combat Engineers Regiment. Ken has also completed qualifications in law and actuarial studies.

Experience and Interests
Ken has worked as head physiotherapist for Inghams Enterprises nationally, and was involved in occupational rehabilitation. He has over 10 years’ experience in the nursing home industry where he has developed a keen interest in geriatric physiotherapy for the older population, developing balance and falls prevention programs.

Other interests
Ken enjoys the outdoors and immerses himself into kayaking and rock climbing in his spare time. He has participated in mountaineering expeditions to the Nepalese and Indian Himalayas, Central Asia, South America, Swiss Alps and the Alaskan wilderness.


Calum Fraser - Physiotherapist

Calum completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2005. 

Experience and Interests
Calum has a keen interest in rehabilitating injuries, whether sporting; a sprained ankle, a dislocated shoulder or a muscular imbalance created by years of lifting weights, or work related; shoulder pain from overhead lifting or back tightness from sitting too long at a desk. As well as working with athletes he has also worked with a major Australian airline preforming injury screens/manual handling and rehabilitating their staff. Workplace injuries while different from sporting injuries often share some common similarities.

Other interests
Calum enjoys all aspects of sport including athletics, soccer and weight training when he is am able to squeeze it into his busy lifestyle of treating patients and running a business.


Charles Colen - Physiotherapist/Pilates Instructor

Charles started his professional career as an accountant, gaining his CPA membership in 2003. After six years working in the finance industry, Charles decided to pursue his passion for helping people. He graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2008.

Experience and Interests
While studying at university Charles spent 3 years working with the Brisbane Strikers soccer team as well as other Aussie Rules and Rugby League teams.
Charles joined the Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy team in 2009. He has a special interest in acupuncture and dry needling. He also enjoys teaching Pilates and helping people to achieve their rehabilitations goals.

Other Interests
Charles has participated in Tae-kwon-Do for the past 20 years and in 2011 travelled to Denver as the team Physiotherapist for 55 competitors at an international tournament. He also enjoys bush walking and tinkering with computers.


Deshni Gopal - Physiotherapist/Pilates Instructor

Deshni graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy in 2002. In addition to this she gained a certificate in Sports Performance Massage through Auckland University of Technology in 2000.

Experience and Interests
Through her love of travel, Deshni has gained a broad based experience in the field of musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, working in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. While in the UK she gained experience in post-surgical orthopaedic patients to add to her musculoskeletal base.
Deshni has been working at Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy since 2009, and through excellent mentorship has developed a keen interest in pooling her skills and knowledge to help complex patients with longer term rehabilitation needs. In addition to this she also enjoys sports and occupational related treatment and rehabilitation

Other Interests
Deshni's interests include adventure travel and trekking, and exploring the far corners of the world. She has also been a competitive swimmer and volley ball player, and she tries to integrate her knowledge from Tai Chi and Yoga into her Physiotherapy practice.


Conor Fitzpatrick - Physiotherapist/Pilates Instructor

Conor graduated from Griffith University with a Master of Physiotherapy in 2015, having also completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2013 at Griffith University.

Experience and Interests
Conor is our newest member to Advantage Healthcare, joining the team in 2016. He has an interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy in particular Rugby Union, and has worked as a Sports Trainer for The Southport School Rugby Union program.

Other Interests
Conor's other interests include weightlifting for strength and conditioning, and he is an avid Rugby Union fan having previously played for a number of years. He enjoys applying his knowledge in these areas from experience for treatment and advice for his patients.

Conor is looking forward to educating and supporting Advantage Healthcare & Physiotherapy patients to achieve and maintain optimal physical health through safe and effective therapy.


Eleni Cody - Physiotherapist/Pilates Instructor

Eleni graduated from the University of Queensland, Master of Physiotherapy Studies in 2005, with prior studies in Human Movement Studies (Exercise Science) (2000).

Experience and Interests
Eleni joined Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy in 2007. She has a keen interest in Pilates and rehabilitation and is qualified through the Pilates Institute of Queensland. In recent years Eleni has gained an interest in and has completed study in Women's Health Physiotherapy. She also enjoys treating the lumbar spine and pelvis and using adjunct techniques such as acupuncture and cupping.

Other Interests
Eleni likes travelling, going to the beach, running, swimming, gardening and bike riding with her husband. She also enjoys eating out and catching up with family and friends.


Claudia Sauvage - Dietitian

Claudia has completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Experience and Interests
Claudia joins us at Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy, creating another element to the team.  Claudia is passionate about educating and facilitating her clients in achieving and sustaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.  Claudia can help you accomplish your individualised health goals with evidence based dietary recommendations.  Claudia has special interests in obesity, chronic diseases and indigenous health.

Other Interests
Claudia enjoys socialising with friends and family accompanied by tasty food and wine.  Claudia enjoys the outdoors through cycling, running and stand up paddle boarding.


Peta Prentice – Diabetes Educator

Peta commenced her professional career as a registered nurse graduating from the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 1991. Peta has worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings, in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom and has specialised in Intensive Care and Dialysis nursing. In 2006, Peta completed a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management from the University of Technology Sydney.

Experience and Interests
Peta joined Advantage Healthcare in 2016 as a diabetes educator. Peta has a passion for diabetes education, by providing patients with the knowledge and necessary skills to self-manage their diabetes care. Peta’s diabetes experience includes Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes and has worked with paediatric, adolescent and adult patients.

Other interests:
Peta enjoys the outdoors, especially Moreton Island where she enjoys the beach, with family and friends surfing and 4WD. After always telling herself she couldn’t run, Peta has developed a love of running and has completed the Gold Coast marathon. Peta’s dream is to one day run in the London Marathon..


Milton Saltmarsh - Massage Therapist

Milton graduated with a Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Australian College of Massage in 2006.

Experience and interests
As a child, Milton grew up in a family who were heavily involved in sport. As a youngster, he witnessed his grandfather and father coaching and treating footballers, boxers and other sports people with massage therapy techniques. For this reason, Milton has a special interest in treating clients involved in sport, he also enjoys helping people from all walks of life improve their well being and look after their body. Milton successfully ran his own massage clinic in Tasmania for the seven years while also coaching senior Athletics.
He moved back to the Gold Coast in 2010, setting up  Saltmarsh Solutions with his wife, before being snapped up by Advantage Healthcare and Physiotherapy in 2013.

Other interests
Milton is a family man and enjoys any spare time he has with his wife and two young children. He also enjoys surfing and is passionate about keeping fit and healthy. He also follows the AFL, having played for the Souhtport club during his latter teenage years.


Vidur Joshi – Exercise Physiologist

Vidur graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Masters in Exercise Physiology (Clinical Expertise Practice) in 2010, after completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2007 in India. Vidur is a current ongoing member of Exercise and Sports Science Australia and a lifetime member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.

Experience and Interests
Vidur enjoys working with clients of all ages. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal injury management, involving all major joints & muscles, and exercise prescription following joint replacements and reconstruction surgeries. He enjoys working with clients with various chronic health, cardiovascular and metabolic problems, and workplace injury management.

Other Interests
In Vidur’s spare time he likes reading books, listening to some good music, and playing cricket.
